TRANSFERRING LARGE SUMS OF MONEY TO BARBADOS NEEDS TO BE REGISTERED ON THE CENTRAL BANK (CB) RECORDS

You are advised to contact the Central Bank of Barbados to ensure the following guidelines are still in place.

THIS APPLIES TO PERSONS THAT ALREADY HAVE A LOCAL (B’dos) BANK ACCOUNT:

  1. You must fill out the FI form from the CB’s website – Download from Here. | Download on CB’s website  |  View a Sample Document for guidance on CB’s page  
  2. You will then transfer the money to your bank on the island. Your bank will then give you a “Credit Advice” form that will indicate the funds were deposited into your account.
  3. You will then take the prepared and signed FI form plus Credit Advice and email it to the Central Bank at foreignexchange@centralbank.org.bb  
  4. After the CB gets the two forms they will return a document to you that states the funds have been registered.
